I am traveling to St. Maarten in july with my wife for our honeymoon. Any advice on what to do or not to do?

I am looking for personal experiences versus websites that say the good things and the bad things about the island, Thanks!!I am traveling to St. Maarten in july with my wife for our honeymoon. Any advice on what to do or not to do?
I have been many times but I only go to shop and that is the truth. If you are looking for electronics then that is very popular for this.I am traveling to St. Maarten in july with my wife for our honeymoon. Any advice on what to do or not to do?
I have been twice, first time I was 8 (sigh!) and second time 35.

I enjoyed both time. It's a really nice place and bad about a small Caribbean Island ther's nothing.

Something really good is to go to the island of Pinel and you will feel in paradise.

Orient Beach is fabulous and I am sure you will have a great time!

Good luck!
Travel to the french side St. Martin (only minutes away) to shop and dine in Grand Case and also dine in Marigot (the capitol). I would highly recommend staying at Le Petit hotel, www.lepetithotel.com,- small but romantic and right on the beach (relatively inexpensive).

If you don't speak French, bring a dictionary or translator just in case. We preferred the french to dutch side!
I have been to St. Marten and I never had any problems. I enjoyed my stay with my wife and have returned twice. Remember '; When in Rome do as the Romans do '; don't be the ugly american. -
