I just got some news that tells me by the time I get home from work, my husband may be in a very foul mood (A VERY FOUL MOOD).... Through no fault of mine, I might add. (His job and the fact that our son was unknowingly exposed to another sick child will be the causes.)
Any advice on how to face what may be a very angry man without making the situation worse?Any advice to a wife going into a lion's dean?
just stay out of his way...let him get the anger on his own, however that may be...make sure the fridge is stocked with beer and have a meal ready...then get the heck outta dodge.Any advice to a wife going into a lion's dean?
Get him talking, let him get it all out. Make eye contact, show him that you are listening and concerned as well. Keep a phone close by in case he gets physical. Stay calm, keep your wits. After a little while see if you can get him to calm down, maybe offer to fix his favorite food or something. Don't try to calm him down right away, may escalate things.
Umm, why is it your problem? If your husband is angry he should not take it out on you.
Don't let him abuse you by treating you with disrespect. You are not his whipping boy or venting post. If he wants to talk out his issues, then fine, but if he's screaming and yelling, then walk out until he cools off.
Call him and tell him you need him to be ready to ';Go'; when you get home. That will get his mind off of whatever he is mad about.
Be there for support and let him know that you're on his side at all times - be there for each other and it will be a new kind of respect - xoxo
