Medical advice, my wife went to the ER after a car accident. she had big cut on her elbow.?

The ER doctor just sewed her up and sent us home. Two days later she got staff infection and was rushed into surgery. What was reveled was she had glass and debre still in her arm. And on top of that he missed all the internal damage tend ens, muscle and more. any way after three surgery's they are awaiting for infection to clear up to repair damage. so i guess what im asking is the doctor at fault. she almost lost her arm and know has to have more surgery's to repair elbow.Medical advice, my wife went to the ER after a car accident. she had big cut on her elbow.?
Call your local bar associations attorney refferal service. they can guide you to an attorney that can best help you, as well as your community.


that ';doctor'; should NOT be a doctor at all.


you need to document this incident thoroughly in case any future complications arise from this guys incompetence.





Not only should you and your wife be compensated, but there should be punitive judgement to help prevent this from occurring in the future.

What you have on your hands is called a ';MEDICAL MALPRACTICE'; law suit!!!!!!! My mother is a lawyer...and trust that if you can prove that she is in worse condition than when she came in thats def. a good standing case...take her to a docter and get the docter to write down that she suffers worse than when she went in...and go get a lawyer...Best of luck to you and your wife!
whatever you plan to do you need to get this documented right away and get a lawyer asap. keep the hospital release papaers she received from the first visit to prove she was there to begin with then call the lawyer and don;t leave the hospital without papers to prove you were there and what the cause was and what was treated.
Dunno all of the legalities, but I would definitely recommend talking to a lawyer. You may have a valid malpractive lawsuit on your hands if you're interested in taking that route.
I would recommend talking to a lawyer. And since this doctor has screwed up a lot, then I would also suggest going to a different doctor to get another opinion
I would seek an attorney's advice on this one. That is wrong. She may be compensated in the future if you act on this now.
Hire a lawyer, make sure he has no relations to the hospital so he wont cheat you out. File a complaint right away.
As a healthcare worker(an ER Nurse) I would say that yes the DR is at fault.

What you should do is talk to a lawyer. But don't think you can obscure facts. In the medical profession we document everything. IF advice was not followed or your wife did not continue with follow up care and treatment it could hurt your plight. From my own experience the ER doc would have not dealt with her surgery. She would have been referred to a orthopedic to follow up with her care. If she would have choose to say 'oh...I feel fine, I'm going to skip it.' That would be on her. As far as the details of infection and leaving glass in the site...I don't know what to say about that. Seems like it would be hard to miss debris in the site you are stitching up.

About the Dr yes you need to talk to an attorney ASAP do not tell anyone about you talking to an attorney NO ONE!!!! keep it Between you and your wife!!!! make sure you keep all medical records every single paper they ask you or your wife to sign request a copy of all paper work if you do not feel comfy signing a paper do not sign it call your attorney immediately and read it to him. You should be able to get ALOT of money from the hospital ad DR but DO NOT get greedy if you get greedy you could lose your case.
